Phillip Q. Shrotman

Mr. Shrotman is the founder and President of Principal Planning Service, Inc. PPS was founded in 1978 as a financial planning and asset manager. For 30 years he served as a Professor in the Business Administration Division at Long Beach City College. Professor Shrotman held the position of Coordinator of Financial Planning and Investments for the college. He holds a Community College Instructors Credential from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Masters Degree from the University of San Francisco (USF).

As a life-long resident of Long Beach, California, Prof. Shrotman is the founder and president of Principal Planning Service, Inc.  For more than 40 years he has stressed a conservative approach to financial planning and asset allocation. 

Prof. Shrotman holds the profession designations of General Securities Principal of the Financial Industry Regulartory Authority (FINRA), Series 7 and 24. Mr. Shrotman has served as a member of the Long Beach City College Foundation, Finance Committee.  He has earned industry recognition, honors and numerous awards.   He is also a member of the Long Beach Police Motor Patrol and a former member of the Air Force Reserve.

“Money Talks”, continuing education courses and various television and radio programs.

In 2016 Professor Shrotman was inducted into The Long Beach City College Hall of Fame. This honor was based upon his success and national recognition in the financial field, industry writings and 30 year career in education.
